We’re fast, flexible, and cost-efficient, offering a wide range of services, including strategy, production, media execution, and creative development. We value accountability, humility, and bringing joy to our work. Our clients range from tech giants to established brands, and we're currently engaged in exciting projects involving AI, brand narratives, and innovative marketing solutions. THE ROLE
About the role
We are seeking a highly collaborative and detail-oriented Interactive Design Intern to join our team out of our Dublin hub. Operating in a small, agile environment, this role is a dedicated training ground designed for a recent college graduate who sits at the intersection of User Experience (UX) and front-end development.
This is an incredible opportunity to launch your career under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. We are keen to invest in and train someone up, so your ability to listen, learn, and absorb information will be important. We are looking for an attentive, curious individual who actively seeks out feedback and views critique as a superpower for growth. You will function as a vital support system for our design and tech teams, translating user insights and team direction into intuitive, functional digital products.
The initial scope of the role will be for 6 months with the potential to become a full time role within the agency after that time.
Responsibilities
Listen & Learn
Actively participate in team briefings, client alignment sessions, and design reviews to absorb our strategic frameworks and methodologies.
Iterate on Feedback
Transform constructive feedback from senior designers and engineers into improved, refined design variations.
Bridge the Gap
Assist in transforming conceptual wireframes into interactive, responsive front-end prototypes, learning best-in-class coding practices along the way.
UX Support
Attentively observe user testing and analyze feedback data to help map out seamless, friction-free user journeys.
What we’re looking for
Fresh Graduate: A recent degree in Interaction Design, Creative Computing, Digital Media, HCI, or a related discipline, eager to transition academic knowledge into real-world practice.
A Growth Mindset: Someone who is deeply attentive, possesses excellent listening skills, and is genuinely excited to learn from a fast-paced agency environment.
Openness to Feedback: A resilient mindset that welcomes constructive critique and uses it to iterate and improve.
The Hybrid Foundation: A basic portfolio demonstrating a grasp of UX/UI principles alongside a foundational knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS), and a strong desire to level up those skills.
What you’ll build
Contribute to interaction design for web and mobile experiences: user flows, wireframes, and clickable prototypes in Figma.
Support the design of states, micro‑interactions, and transitions that make interfaces feel clear, responsive, and alive.
Help document UI patterns and behaviors in clients design systems so they can be implemented consistently by developers and partners.
Participate in critiques, workshops, and working sessions with the Curious Orange team and clients, capturing feedback and iterating on designs.
Assist with light user research and testing (e.g., reviewing recordings, synthesizing findings, updating flows based on insights).
What you’ll bring
Recently graduated in interaction design, Human Computer Interaction, UX, product design, or a related field.
A portfolio (school projects are great) showing interaction thinking: flows, wireframes, prototypes, or motion studies, not just static screens.
Strong Figma skills and comfort working with components, variants, and prototyping features.
Curiosity about systems thinking, design documentation, and how design connects to development and business needs.
Collaborative, low‑ego mindset, you’re excited to learn, ask questions, and contribute to a tight‑knit team.
What you’ll learn
How a boutique studio like Curious Orange runs end‑to‑end product and brand projects, from brief to launch.
Practical workflows for interaction design in Figma: component libraries, responsive layouts, and motion prototyping.
How to communicate design decisions clearly to clients, developers, and non‑design partners.
Sound like a good fit? We’d love to hear from you.
Send your portfolio, resume, and a short note about a product interaction you love (and why).
