THE ROLE

About the role

We are seeking a highly creative and strategic Head of Strategy to lead our strategic frameworks out of our San Francisco hub. Operating in a small, agile team environment, this leader must comfortably balance high-level strategic vision with rolling up their sleeves for hands-on executional delivery. This role functions as a key business ally and extension of our client's teams, acting as a critical thought partner to map out Go-To-Market (GTM) blueprints, construct messaging frameworks, and develop comprehensive event strategies. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset to cut through complex variables and transform raw data or insights into compelling, shareable strategic narratives.

Responsibilities

Brand Planning
Develop comprehensive brand strategies, encompassing long-term positioning, portfolio architecture, and market-shaping initiatives that ensure consistent brand growth and differentiation.

Go-To-Market (GTM) Blueprints
Architect, lead, and stress-test comprehensive Go-To-Market frameworks that align with client business objectives, OKRs, and market opportunities.

Messaging Frameworks & Pillars
Formulate core brand proposition messaging houses, aligning specific customer realities and insights into distinct value pillars that establish brand authority and clarity across diverse audiences.

Event & Experiential Strategy
Lead the end-to-end strategic concept development and program architecture for major tech and cultural event activations. Design multi-tiered activation flywheels (tentpoles, community hubs, network builders, and non-traditional OOH stunts) that shift audience perception from indifference to advocacy.

Storytelling & Strategic Narratives
Bring structure, rigour, and clarity to complex business challenges, transforming analytical data into powerful, human-centric visual and verbal narratives that define category leadership.

Client Collaboration
Act as a primary strategic partner and trusted ally for senior client stakeholders, guiding workshops, presenting rationale, and advising on long-term account growth.

Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner closely with Design Leads, Copywriters, and Production Pods to ensure visual art direction and asset creation remain seamlessly anchored to the overarching strategic message.

Skills we’re looking for

  • A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a proven ability to independently move projects forward in a flat, highly collaborative team structure.

  • Confidence in storytelling, with a demonstrated portfolio of turning complex technical concepts, insights, and data points into crisp, clear marketing platforms.

  • Cultural fluency and professional taste to ensure brand messaging and event setups feel completely native, authentic, and shareable within specific ecosystems (such as the Bay Area tech and builder communities).

  • An entrepreneurial, proactive approach to problem-solving, with a natural comfort balancing high-stakes strategic leadership and hands-on operational delivery within an agile agency structure.

  • A collaborative communication style that effortlessly builds trust across multi-disciplinary internal teams and diverse client organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, English, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in a creative strategy, brand strategy, or product marketing leadership role within an agency or fast-paced marketing environment.

  • Proven experience designing multi-touchpoint brand activations, event calendars, and messaging hierarchies for large tech brands or fast-moving startups.

  • Expert proficiency in synthesizing research, stakeholder inputs, and audience sentiments into creative briefs and actionable operational roadmaps.

  • Deep understanding of digital marketing principles, value-centric metrics, and current technology trends (including AI integrations and developer ecosystems).

Sound like a good fit? We’d love to hear from you.
